- Cricket Australia XI captain Matthew Short spoke to media following his side’s two-day, day-night tour match against South Africa at Adelaide Oval.
South Africa batted first, compiling 415 before being dismissed in the 90th over of the first day.
Quinton de Kock retired on 122, JP Duminy scored 97 and Hashim Amla retired on 51.
Arjun Nair, Ryan Lees and Tom O’Donnell each picked up two wickets for the CA XI.
In reply, the CA XI was dismissed for just 103 on day two, with South Africa’s five quicks – Dale Steyn, Vernon Philander, Kagiso Rabada, Morne Morkel and Kyle Abbott – each picking up two wickets.
CA XI skipper Matthew Short scored 57 of his side’s total before being the last man dismissed.
South Africa batted a second time, reaching 5-181 in 44 overs before the match ended.
Rilee Roussow top-scored with 77 retired, with four CA XI bowlers each picking up a wicket.
